Course schedule

Target Group

This course is ideal for experienced Scrum Masters, Agile Masters, Team Coaches, Project and Program Managers who work in organizations where more than three teams work together on a program/release (ART). Often, several ARTs already exist in such organizations, which together support a comprehensive overall solution. For large solutions with more than three ARTs, the introduction of a Solution Train Engineer (STE) is recommended. This course also prepares them for the tasks of a STE. Both RTEs and STEs take on important coaching functions and require communication skills, empathy, specialist knowledge and wide-ranging experience. The roles of Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Solution Train Engineer (STE) in the SAFe® framework are important steps on the way to becoming a SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC). The SPC acts as a coach and supports the entire company in the agile transformation and the maintenance of optimized value streams.

Level/Difficulty: Advanced

Prerequisites

  • Completion of the online courses and reading of the documents and articles provided by Scaled Agile® after your registration for this course. You should allow at least 1 week for part-time preparation (at least 4 hours)
  • In addition, participation in the official role-based online training course for Release Train Engineers is recommended in advance.
  • It is recommended that you already have a SAFe® Scrum Master certificate and experience with at least one Release Train and several PIs.
  • For remote courses, it is necessary to test the course environment with all participants in order to avoid delays at the start of the course. This test usually takes place in the early evening on a day the week before. If one date is not possible for all participants, Bizagility offers up to 2 test dates. Bizagility invites the course participants via Outlook with a Teams link. Of course, all course participants need a stable and high-performance internet connection, ideally a headset and a camera.
  • On-site courses require a professional training environment that corresponds to the number of course participants. Above all, the room size, ventilation, background noise and equipment must be right. Sometimes it makes sense to hire an external conference room for this purpose. This environment must be available to the trainer on the day before the first day of the course for preparation and testing. In the event of questions or problems, the trainer needs a contact person from the customer.
