Training overview
In this course, we will prepare you and your fellow architects for the Scaled Agile® exam in order to obtain the coveted certification as a SAFe® Architect (ARCH).
Participants in this course will delve into the world of agile architects, exploring their roles, responsibilities and mindsets. They will learn methods to synchronize architecture and business value and support continuous flow in large-scale systems. This includes supporting SAFe® programs (ARTs) and promoting their success. Developing and communicating a technical strategy that aligns with business goals is also a focus. Agile architecture practices enable a steady flow of value. The course is aimed at tool, system, solution, and enterprise architects who want to act as effective leaders and change agents. You will learn how to create and jointly implement holistic architecture solutions and how to optimize collaboration in a SAFe® lean-agile organization. Discover how you as an architect can harmonize architecture and business value and continuously create value.
Learning objectives
- Agile architecture: Insight into agile architectures, SAFe® architect roles and collaboration, SAFe® principles for architects
- Architecture for DevOps and Release on Demand: DevOps, flow with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, Continuous Exploration, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Release on Demand
- Alignment of the architecture with the business value: strategic topics, portfolio canvas, portfolio vision, value streams, solution trains, agile release trains (ARTs)
- Development of solution visions, solution intentions and roadmaps: Alignment of the solution vision with the strategic topics and the solution environment, support for the development of the solution intentions, quality assurance, support for the roadmap definition
- Prepare architecture for PI planning: ART backlog support, backlog prioritization and sequencing support, solution train pre-planning support
- Coordination of architecture in PI planning: support of PI planning, participation in management review and solution search, support in solution train post-planning
- Continuous delivery support during PI execution: architecture and continuous delivery leadership, participation in sprint/iteration reviews, system and solution demos, support of continuous optimization in Inspect and Adapt
- Support of new strategic topics and their value streams: Aligning architecture to business strategies, developing a solution portfolio, contribution of enabler epics to portfolio Kanban, coordination between value streams
- Supporting an agile transformation: lean-agile leadership, leading the agile architecture transformation, creating an action plan

Course schedule
Target Group
This course is specially designed for all employees involved in solution development – whether at team, program, solution or portfolio level. The target groups include tool architects, development managers, system, solution and enterprise architects. Previous experience is not required, but a basic understanding of agile methods and practical experience are an advantage. Depending on the previous role, it may be helpful to have previously attended a Leading SAFe® or SAFe® for Teams course.

Prerequisites
- Completion of the online courses and reading of the documents and articles provided by Scaled Agile® after your registration for this course
- You should allow at least 1 week for part-time preparation (at least 4 hours)
- For remote courses, it is necessary to test the course environment with all participants in order to avoid delays at the start of the course. This test usually takes place in the early evening on a day the week before. If one date is not possible for all participants, Bizagility offers up to 2 test dates. Bizagility invites the course participants via Outlook with a Teams link. Of course, all course participants need a stable and high-performance internet connection, ideally a headset and a camera.
- On-site courses require a professional training environment that corresponds to the number of course participants. Above all, the room size, ventilation, background noise and equipment must be right. Sometimes it makes sense to hire an external conference room for this purpose. This environment must be available to the trainer on the day before the first day of the course for preparation and testing. In the event of questions or problems, the trainer needs a contact person from the customer.
SAFe® certification
This training serves as preparation for the online exam that qualifies you for certification as a SAFe® Architect (ARCH). Under this link you will find all the necessary information about your certification exam, which is conducted by Scaled Agile® in English.

Registration
- Course language: German (English on request, if all course participants agree)

- The course is generally held as Remote and Exclusive Classroom training with a maximum of 9 participants, so that all practical exercises can be carried out together. Exceptions are only made at the express request of the customer and, if necessary, in consultation with other course participants.
- This course is available as Fast Track OnSite training with up to 25 participants. Comfort Track OnSite training is available for up to 20 participants and Deep Track OnSite training for up to 15 participants.
- Remote Classroom prices are per participant. Exclusive Remote and Exclusive OnSite prices are per course.
- Remote Classroom prices include the Scaled Agile® license for documents, exam, certificate and 1-year membership. For Exclusive Remote and Onsite groups, the prices are plus € 500.00 per participant for documents, exam, certificate and 1-year membership.
- The number of registrations takes into account all simultaneous registrations of a customer for one course period. The reduced price is applied to all participants of a company for this course (no graduated calculation).
- OnSite training courses in Germany and Austria are all-in. In other countries, OnSite training courses do not include travel and accommodation costs or the client bears these costs.
- Courses are held following confirmation of registration from Bizagility. Confirmations of registration are usually issued at short notice. Courses will only be canceled or postponed at the client’s discretion in the event of illness or accident of the trainer or technical failures. Registered participants can only take part in the course if the invoice amount has been credited to Bizagility’s account within 14 days of invoicing or at least 1 working day before the start of the course. The currently stated course times will be gradually reduced depending on the volume of orders in other areas and courses.

- Remote Exclusive and OnSite Exclusive course times are arranged individually on request. To allow for arrival and departure outside the weekend, OnSite Exclusive course times usually take place between Tuesday and Thursday.
- We also offer courses at weekends, on public holidays and after 6 p.m. CET for a surcharge of 100% on the prices quoted. Please contact us if required so that we can find a solution together.
- Please contact us directly if you would like a course in the form of half training days or have similar needs. We can also find solutions for this.
- Remote classroom courses usually take place between 9 am and 6 pm. Some courses with a particularly tight schedule can take place until 7 pm. After the official course times, the trainer is usually available to the participants for a few minutes.
